Important Tax Substantiation Changes Acrobat (.pdf) United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is committed to providing the information our donors need to make informed decisions regarding their charitable ontributions. We want to make sure that all of our individual donors and corporate partners are aware of the new tax laws that went into effect in late 2006, which affect charitable gift substantiation.

United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania stuffs school bags with school supplies and then delivers them to thousands of children in shelters in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties. Stuff The Bus is a community service project that provides children living in shelters with a new bag, plenty of school supplies and a very big smile.

Today in Philadelphia, nearly 60% of students aged 6-17 do not have a safe, structured place to go after school. Less than 35% of students score proficient in math and less than 45% score proficient in reading. On average, 1 out of 4 students entering 9th grade will not graduate high school. You can change the course of these students' lives by volunteering with City Year.
