Investing in Results
At United Way, we are inspired by the knowledge that our donors have entrusted us with their investments in the future of this region. In today’s economic environment, donors expect a high social return on this investment – and that’s what Investing in Results is all about.
Investing in Results is United Way’s outcomes-based investment strategy that ensures your contributions are invested to get results in the critical issues that are facing our region. Our rigorous competitive funding process enables us to select fiscally sound nonprofit agencies that are demonstrating they know what it takes to make young children ready for kindergarten, keep kids on track to high school graduation, help adults build their skills and find jobs with wages that will support their families, and help older adults remain at home as long as possible.
To put this plan into action, United Way launched a fully open funding process that offered every human services agency in the region an opportunity to compete for general operating support from United Way.
Awarding funding was just the beginning of the three-year partnerships thru Investing in Results. United Way has just ended year two. In early 2011, United Way will begin the extensive process of awarding funding for the next Investing in Results, three-year partnerships.
